Grasmere Lake from Loghrigg Terrace
[/caption]We spent last weekend at the Great Langdale National Trust Campsite close to Ambleside in Cumbria, on the Saturday we decided to take the Loghrigg Fell walk starting from Ambleside and ending up at Grasmere Village. Our walk started from Rothay Park with a gentle walk past Loughrigg Tarn and then on to Loughrigg Fell. We stopped at Loughrigg Terrace with outstanding views over Grasmere Lake towards Helm Crag for a cup of tea giving us a chance to try out my Coleman Exponent F1 Lite stove. From Grasmere we headed back onto the terrace and past Rydal Caves & Rydal Water. On our way back to Ambleside we visited Rydal Mount which was the home of William Wordsworth. Wordsworth became poet laureate and his house and gardens can be viewed all year round.
